Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Meridian Forex collects, why, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other laws that apply to us.
What we collect
- Account details: name, username, email address, and the city, state and country you give at sign-up.
- Security data: one-time login codes (stored only in hashed form), two-factor settings, and session records.
- Subscription and payment records: plan, billing dates, amounts and payment references. Card details are handled by our payment partners and never stored by us.
- Alert settings: your email preferences, your Telegram chat ID if you link Telegram, and browser push subscription details if you enable push.
- Trading connections: if you connect a trading account where that feature is offered, the connection details needed to operate it, stored encrypted.
- API keys: stored only as a one-way hash, with creation and last-used times.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and server logs, used for security and troubleshooting.
Why we use it
- To create and secure your account and log you in (performance of our contract with you).
- To deliver signals and alerts to the channels you choose (contract).
- To take payments, keep billing records and meet tax and accounting duties (contract and legal obligation).
- To prevent fraud and abuse and keep the service running (legitimate interests).
- To send service emails. We will only send marketing emails if you have agreed, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with providers that help us run the service: payment processors (such as Paystack, and a crypto payment processor where offered), Telegram when you link it, your browser’s push service when you enable push, and our hosting provider. We may disclose data where required by law. Our public social media posts contain signal information only, never subscriber data.
International transfers
Some providers, including our hosting provider and Telegram, process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards permitted by the Nigeria Data Protection Act.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is open. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally six years). Security logs are kept for a limited period. When you close your account we delete or anonymise the rest within a reasonable time.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email support@meridian-forex.com. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser’s local storage to keep you logged in and remember your settings. We do not use advertising cookies.
Security
We use encryption in transit, hashed credentials and keys, encrypted storage for trading connections, two-factor authentication for staff, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at support@meridian-forex.com if you notice anything suspicious.
Children
The service is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
